Ok, so we (I am 29 years old with my 15 and 22 year old brothers) will be in Orlando between 9/19 and 9/26. Doing 4 days in Disney (one in each park) and probably 2 days in Universal. And beyond that, everything is just a work in progress still. haha

I had a few questions regarding what people think or based on experience....

According to a certain "informer" the week I will be there, the crowds will be low and the crowds should be the same at Disney as well. So based on that information, would we be able to do both parks fully in one day? We would like to do as much as possible but obviously not every attraction is necessary. I think right now, my biggest issue/concern is which tickets to get. For that time of year and with low crowds would 1 park/2 day or 2 park/1 day make the most sense? and even a bit more of a stretch, would a 2 park/2 day be necessary? has anyone ever completely finished a park in one day and still had time til park closing? Or vice versa, anyone ever NOT finished a park in one full day?

I apologize for the wall of text, but I am just all over the place as I have only done US once before and it will be my brothers first time so I'd like to get as much done as possible. Thanx to anyone who responds:)

That time of year, one park per day should be fine. I do not recommend both parks in one day, if that's what you're asking here.

I guess that is essentially what I am asking. So 1 full day in each park with low crowds should suffice?

That should be fine and since the crowds are generally low, you can take more time than you would during a busy travel season.

in advance, you could buy a 1 day 2 park ticket.

if you don't finish both parks in that day, you could go to guest services and upgrade that ticket to a 2 day 2 park one.
you would pay the difference which would be better than buying a another single day ticket.

i don't believe you could do both parks in just one day.
closing hours are moved up during your time period.

your day/s for the darkside looks like it could be anytime between the thursday to next thursday.

if you stay away from saturday, you would have less crowds.

sunday, tues, wed, thurs are usually very good low crowd days for your september dates.

"would we be able to do both parks fully in one day?"
Not likely with fully being the operative word here. You can hit the highlights.

Yea that seems to be the general idea. I don't really wanna do highlights, we kinda wanna hit as much as we can (at least what interests us) and the rides that we love, maybe do a few times. haha. 2 parks 2 days seems ideal, except the price:(

I sympathize with you when it comes to the price. I think that two days is really necessary though. I'd personally feel like I missed too much if I didn't give myself the two days. Plus like you said, the chance to do things over again is nice too.

Yea I think you just made my decision for me. 2 days definitely. Now would you also say its worth it to get the 2 day/2 park pass? or 2 day/1 park pass? i swear I am not always THIS bad at making decisions, but paying for 3 people makes one start to notice pricing a little more than usual! Lol.

It would give you added flexibility to return to something in the first park if you liked it a lot after your first day. It would also allow you to extend your Studios day by hopping to the park with later hours--usually IoA. "Worth it" questions are so subjective, and ultimately that's up to you.

I can only tell you it's really easy to get between the parks, unlike WDW. So the only factor you have at Uni is truly the cost. You don't have to figure in time, wear and tear on feet, hassle, buses, or any of that stuff like you do at WDW.

Yea, you are exactly right. I just need to make a decision financially and run with it. Thanx everybody:)

I've just skimmed...but a couple questions.
1. Will you go back with 1.5 or 2 years?
2. Are you a member of Costco or someone you know?

At the Costco I shop at in Newport News, Virginia, it carries 3-day tickets. They are hopper and expire in 2014, I think, in the current offerings. Here it retails for $144, plus tax. So you could use two days now and save a day for later.

I haven't been but have poked around for tickets and it, other than an ap, seems like the best value.
