renting with DVC points? and online checkin?

We have used the online checking when buying direct from Disney ( at Pop )
and it was great. We walked right past a long line to check in.

Does the DVC member have to do the online checkin for me?
I think we have to wait until 10 days out from our stay at BWV to do the online checkin?

Also, I sent my flight information to the DVC member who will pass that on to Disney. Soooo I would expect to receive my DME tags before my flight. When should I receive them or more accurately, when should I start worrying because I have not received them yet?

Am I correct that I cannot contact Disney myself about my stay?

And lastly, I have an e-mail showing the room has been put in our names.
Is this enough?

I dont want to be one of those renters that bombards the DVC member with hundreds of e-mails so I ask here...

Yes you can do online check-in yourself, provided the link is working when you need it to.

ME tags come about 40-30 days out. I wouldn't get worried about it until maybe 3 weeks before your trip.

You can't do anything with your reservation - only the member can.

If you have a confirmation from DVC showing your name, you should be all good to go. There is a link to check on your reservation yourself, but I keep forgetting what it is - someone will post it I'm sure (it also doesn't seem to work 100% of the time though).

If you go to the Walt Disney World web site, you can enter your DVC reservation number like any other reservation for on-line check-in. Works great - especially if you are using ME and thus getting there with a busload of others!

Rented through a different DVC member a few years back and all was fine but always that fear that we get there and have no reservation...

Great if I can look it up myself... I'll check it out.

Great deal though, to me this is disneys best kept secret..

Go to www.mydisneyreservation.com/dvc and enter the info from your confirmation and you will be able to view your reservation under YOUR own name. I am 100% sure this works as I just rented points from a DVC owner for the third time this week and was able to check my own reservation.
