Renting / Transfer for June

We're going down in January for our 20th anniversary, so we won't have enough points left to stay as long as we want next June. So:
1. How do I get more points from another member? Is that considered renting; or are their points actually transferred to my contract, thereby making it a transfer?
2. How easy is this to do, and how easy is it for a room in June?
3. Do I list my need on the "rent" board, and hope somebody's got some points for me?

If the other party makes the reservation for you (and retains control of it until you check in) it is considered "renting". If the points are actually transferred, it is considered a transfer. You are allowed one transfer (either into your account or out of it) per use year.

2. How easy is this to do, and how easy is it for a room in June?

Not sure how to answer this - depends on availability. If you are talking about June 2008 and will be looking soon, it will shouldn't be a problem. Up to you to find the other party and negotiate the terms of the reservation or transfer.

3. Do I list my need on the "rent" board, and hope somebody's got some points for me?

Yes. Be sure to read all of the sticky threads at the top of the page and follow the rules for your post (or it won't make it to the board). And do your "Due Diligence" before sending a stranger your money.
