Renting snorkelling and beach equipment if you aren't a guest

I'm attending a conference in Hawaii and will be there over a weekend. I don't get to choose where we stay so am not staying at Aulani unfortunately, but will be renting a car over the weekend that I'm there so will go and at least take a look at Aulani.

I know you can't use the chairs, pools or towels if you aren't staying there but what about snorkelling equipment? The place I'm staying on Waikiki has snorkelling available, but for a ridiculous price so I was thinking it might be better to do it when I'm visiting Aulani.

If not, any recommendations of great snorkelling places that won't cost me an arm and a leg?

You can snorkel at Hanauma Bay for $7.50 for the day. They rent equipment, but not sure how much as we took our own. It takes up very little space in luggage if you don't take fins (we didn't use them at all).

I would just bring your own mask and snorkel, or pick up a cheap set at a store once you get here. You can snorkel for free anywhere there is water and fish, so don't know why your hotel is charging for that unless they're bringing you somewhere.
