Has anyone done this? If so, how? I know some airports (ie MCO) have kiosks where you can rent them for the flight and return them at your arriving airport. Of course, our departing airport does not. I thought it would really keep the kids busy on the plane but didn't know if there were any companies that anyone know about that does this.

how far are you flying? i see you are in Ct which would mean your flight is not much longer than ours (from long island)... we have never had much trouble keeping the kids occupied for the two hours, especially if we are seated by a window so they can look out during takeoff and landing... depending on their ages, gameboys, coloring books, a snack or meal (brought with you most likely), video now, cd player (with headphones for all the electronics!), books to read, travel games such as guess who, checkers, cards, etc... even ispy, 20 questions, tic tac toe, etc work well... i always find that i bring far more than they really need, but i prefer to be overplanned than under! LOL!

the first time dd flew she was 4.5yo... her fave thing was to string fruit loops and cheerios on shoestring licorice and make necklaces for the flight attendants (a snack and a craft all in one!) they all wore them and thanked dd over the loudspeaker... it was fun and really kept her busy!

I plan on renting one for our drive from NY. I called rent-a-center and they are 19.99 a week. More than worth it for 20 some hours in a car with a 5 yr old lol.
