Renting points

I am interested is how this works. We are not DVC members. Would that matter? My daughter graduates in 2019 and would like her Sr. Trip to be at Disney. I would be interested in renting points to get more space only I know nothing of this works. Thanks....

You cannot book a points trip for 2019 until 2018, 11 months in advance of check-in. So you've got a lot of time.
