Renting Points/Parking

Hi all,

I am renting points from a DVC owner for the first time and have a question about parking. Since we can't check in until 4pm, we will visit a park in the morning before checking in. Will I have to pay for parking, or can I just show my confirmation number? The same goes for when we leave, we will check out before 11 am, and then visit a park.

It would be better if you just went to check in then you'd get your parking pass. I'm not sure the confirmation alone would get your free parking, but I'm sure someone else might be able to help with that.

If you check in upon arrival (you can check in even before your room assignment has been made) you will be given the parking pass which will allow you to park your car without charge at any park or resort. Bell services can put your luggage into storage until your room is assigned and avaliable. You will be given a card with a phone number you can call (if you're away from your resort) to find out if your room is ready. Once it is you can proceed to your room and call bell services to have them deliever your bags.

It won't be a problem on check out day - your resort parking pass is good all day on check out day so you won't have to pay to park that day.

I don't think (but don't know for sure) that a confirmation number alone would suffice to get you free parking at a park for check in day. Seems like you would at least need the confirmation letter with your name and a photo ID.

You can check in before 4 pm - your room will probably not be ready (although it could be), but you can get your resort IDs/room keys and parking pass. Believe you can check in as early as 7 am. When your room isn't ready, the Front Desk CM will just give you a number to call later in the day to find out the room number.

Anyway, I agree with Mickeygolf - check in first and then you have no worries.

Which resort will you be at? At OKW, we usually check in as soon as we get there so we have the option of either leaving our car at the resort OR parking for free at one of the parks. We usually opt for leaving the car at the resort and take a bus to the park of our choice. While we are there, we call the number provided after 4 and get our room assignmetn. No need to go back for your keys, because they will have already given them to you when you checked in. You will NOT be able to park free at either the resort OR the parks unless you check in and get your parking pass first.
