Renting points - Grand Californian

I’m thinking it’s probably going to be tough to rent points here due to the high cost of purchasing dvc here. I was thinking of putting a request in with more than one rental agency if I’m unable to book with the one I initially choose after a week (I wouldn’t mind losing the deposit). Has anyone done this?

It's not just the high cost of purchasing. VGC is not a large resort. Small resorts = fewer owners. Fewer owners = even fewer owners renting out their points. And if you're looking for a studio, then availability becomes a problem, too. There are only 23 in the whole resort.

That's not to say that it's impossible. It's just very difficult, regardless of which broker(s) you use.

I have rented my points out through David’s for GCV so it’s not impossible.

Owners from there also rent their points. I'd give it a try!
