Renting points from a broker... Is this how it goes?

So I contacted a broker to rent points for a December 2021 trip. I sent emails for availabilities back and forth, and then they told me there was availability, I payed the deposits, and then... I wait?

From what I understand, they post my wanted reservation and then a DVC owner decides if they want to pick up my ressie to confirm the dates? Is that right? I have to wait and see until someone wants to make my reservation? Waiting is not actually my forte...

Yes, that is what happens. The owners have the points. The broker cannot make any of us make the booking.

December will constantly change right now for availability as well. So could have been available, then not, but now is. Just have to wait it out.

Another option is using the rental boards on here as you are removing the middle man. Which honestly I never used a rental service when I rented points as you work directly with the owner and makes it easier imo.
