Renting points from 2 diff. people, can you add these together?

I have searched everywhere, but I just can't figure this out!

I need 270 pts. for Jan. 2004. If 1 person has 248 to rent, and I can find another with 22 points - can I combine them? I know this is a stupid question, but I just don't understand how they could be combined if each DVC member has to make ressies for their own points.

If someone could explain this, I would be so relieved!

Cathy -

I am guessing you are not a DVC member, so I think you have two choices (one more viable than the other).

1) rent points from person #1 to cover x number of nights. rent points from person #2 to cover y number of nights. Ask that the reservations be linked to allow you to stay in one room (you may need to go physically and check in and out but I am not sure.

2) have person y (small point rental) transfer the points to person x. Than person x makes the whole ressie. IMHO, this is not the greatest of options creating this "middleman" but is certainly doable.

Good luck
Sandy

What you could do is rent the points for 6 nights, for example, 230 pts, from one party, and have that person make the ressies for the six nights. Then rent the remaining 40 pts from the second party, for the 2 remaining nights that you want, and have the second renter tellMS that it needs to be connected to another ressie #******. Also have the first renter call MS back after you have this all arranged, and have the renter connect his ressie to the 2nd renter's ressie, and you will then have two ressies which are connected for when you check in. It lets the front desk know that you are actually one family instead of two different families, with two ressies. It actually works well, it's the same as if you had two contracts of your own and were using both to make ressies.;)

Since points are of no use to a non-member, you are really renting a reservation made using DVC points.

You can easily combine (link) reservations from two different members together. As already suggested, have one member make as many nights as they can for you and get the remainder from another member. Depending on finding a member willing to transfer points to another member and then have that member make the reservation is just too confusing and cumbersome.

Enjoy!

Thank you so much guys, and gals! Just one of those things I couldn't figure out. Now it's crystal clear!
