renting points--DVC ammenities?

We are renting points from a DVC member and staying at the BW for 6 nights. Do the same ammenities apply to us that the DVCers gets such as pool hopping (would like to see BC pool) valet parking etc... will we get a list of our ammenities when we get there? Whats the protocol? Any renters out there know form experience? TIA!!!

We have rented points several times. You get the same ammenities that DVC'ers get. We never did the pool hoping, but I believe it is still avialable everywhere except the beach club. We stayed at the BW last year and they have a great pool with a slide.

It's a good idea to research the DVC benefits before you get there. The CM's won't always let you know what's available. Staying at BW you will get the free valet parking(before tips). There are also discounts on different addmission tickets. I know at one time there was a 10% discount on UMP passes.

Your room card will have DVC on it so everywhere you go that has DVC discount you can show the card and get it.

One thing to remember is there will be no maid service and you can exchange towels every 3/4 days.

Have fun the BW is great especialy at night.

Unfortunately, the Beach Club and Animal Kingdom Lodge pools are not included in the DVC pool hopping privileges.

I knew about the valet parking, but I didn't know there were other perks. We're renting pts in September.

Does anyone know where to find this info?

You also won't be able to get certain merchandise and possibly dining discounts that are available from time to time to members, as those require the actual member ID card rather than a room key.

Two other perks you will get:

Free valet parking at your resort (if you valet at another resort you'll be billed)

Free use of the health club at your resort

Wow, I'm so excited. I'm renting points for 2 nights at BCV. I had no clue I got other benefits than just using Stormalong Bay. I'm so excited now!

The UMP pass as it was called at one time, is the length of stay passes you get at the resort. They cover every theme park, water park and disney quest. I don't know if they still call them UMP but most people will know it as length of stay passes.

Some people think they are not worth the money, but if you want to do more than the theme parks and throw in the 10% discount the cost is fairly close.

You can also drop a day off the front or back of the length of stay pass which can save you some money.

Re you allowed to use the pools at the Poly and GF whilst renting DVC points ?- That would be really handy for a break and lunch on a hot afternoon at MK

If your room card says "DVC Member" then yes. HOWEVER, please do'nt automatcially assume that you can use these pools. members are asked to call in advance and verify that there is room. When the pools are crowded and during peak seasons pool hopping privileges are suspended.

PH, discounts and free valet parking are not technically benefits extended to renters. While DVC has generally not segragated renters and treat them like guests of owners, they are not obligated to do so.
