Renting points as Member question

I am going thru ROFR right now and expect to be a member when we take our trip this November. For our trip in November we are renting points from another member. Will our KTTW have that we are members or will we have some other way of getting DVC member discounts (annual pass etc...)even though we are not using our membership for our stay

Once you fully close on your contract DVC will send you a DVC member card. You will present this card anywhere that accepts a DVC discount. When you go to guest relations to buy/upgrade to a DVC discounted annual pass they will see your a member via this card and your member number. They won't/shouldn't give you the discounts via your room key . They CM's are suppose to ask for the member card.

The thing you have to remember is that even though you will be a DVC member by Nov, you still do not own the reservation. It still belongs to the other member. So you can't call MS to make a request for the reservation, to add the dining plan or Magical Express. The member you rented from will have to do all of that.

The KTTW should say DVC reservation on it (not DVC member). Technically, you cannot pool hop for that trip because you are not using your own points. It's like you are not a DVC member at all.

We also are waiting to close and are looking at to rent and use our points. Do you know if they can link the two reservations so that we wouldn't have to change rooms?

How long has the whole process taken you?

We submitted for ROFR on the 21st of March. I am pretty confident we will pass. We currently have a Rez for AKL Saturday thru Tuesday week of Thanksgiving. Have not booked back half of week (OKW) yet. Not sure if we will rent of have points transferred in for second half of the week I would imagine when we are all done with everything we will be at the 7 month mark and could transfer in at that point.
