Hi,

I am contemplating renting points for a trip this summer and just received a pin code in my email for free quick and casual dining with a nondiscounted package. I already have park tickets so I really don't need a package. If I rent points at a DVC resort will I be eligible to buy the dining plan? There are 4 in our party, 2 adults and 2 boys, 15 and 17.

Thanks for your help, all this figuring is making my head hurt! :)

Nope, you can only use that PIN code with a package booked directly through Disney. When you rent a reservation from a DVC member, you are working with an individual and Disney is not involved in any way. But if you do rent a reservation from a member, you can purchase the dining plan (but the member will need to request it for you at least 48 hours before check in).

With your family, you would need to purchase the plan for four adults.

If you can find a DVC member willing to accept the pin code and honor the free dining you would be all set! :)

You can get the "free" dining by renting the same villa from Disney - who will accept the pin code - but the trade off is that you'll pay rack rate for the room. The advantage of using the pin code thru Disney is the free dining and the advantage of renting from a DVC member is the lower rate. The Dining Plan may be added to DVC reservations by the member you rent from and you will not need to purchase admission tickets. You'll need to do the math to see which will benefit you more.

Good luck with your decision! :)

Yes, you will be able to buy the dining plan. And not have to purchase any park tickets.:thumbsup2
