Is there a reliable site or way I can find Florida rentals from Candians that will accept payment in Canadian dollars rather than USD? I find the usual reliable sites only accept USD, and with the dollar the way it is I would rather know exactly how much it will cost me rather than riding the currency wave. Is there such a way or site? I don't want to go through kijiji as i wouldn't know if it was trustworthy or not.

Yes. Ill have find the link but we rented from a fellow Canadian in CDN $. The house was great - 4 bedroom, 2 bath, 24' pool, games room and 15-20 minute drive to parks max in rush hour.

Okay, it wont let me paste the address. So Google: "Glenbrook Resort come in as guests leave as friends". They're on VRBO and Homeaway.ca. Brown leather couches in living room photos.

You can message and ask for their price for fellow Canadians.

Thanks so much but it's already booked for the first week of January next year. It looked like an awesome place so I can understand why. Is there any others or tips on how to look for Canadian owners?

That I'm honestly not sure. We just came across the place by fluke. When I read the manager info I saw they were from Canada.

We've never rented in Orlando - we've always stayed at hotels to be close to the parks but the kids were younger then. Now will be 12 and 14 and can handle a bit of a drive. Which parks were you meaning when you said 15-20 minutes max in traffic? We will only be visiting SW, AQ and DC this trip. Might be worth driving back and forth for the value you get outside of town like Glenbrook. I see there are similar houses to the one you recommended and you have your own pool! Are there any areas we should avoid? This looks like a nice area though.

We were 15-20 minutes from the Disney parks, I believe the owner said that Sea World etc... would be around 30 minutes. Windsor Hills is another great spot to check out, but you'll be renting in US$ there.

I was going to say airbnb as well. Booking.com also looks like it will charge in CAD.

We've stayed at Windsor Hills before and although ended up rented from a British family I know that when I used the rental inquiry form we had a few Canadian responses who were willing to work in CND $.

How do you know if they are Canadian? Is there a special way to search for Canadian owners? I didn't see any and I didn't see any indication when it shows you who the owner is.

You are correct no way to search to find Canadian owners or see in the add but when you fill out the enquiry form you can add your country so when we got replies to our enquiry we happened to get a few who commented they were Canadian and prepared to work in cnd. There is also a comment are where I'm sure you could make that request.

You can always check Kijiji. A lot of people post vacation rentals on there.

I'm renting a house this Fall from a fellow Canadian and she is allowing me to pay in CDN funds. It's a pain for her though because she pays all the house bills, etc. in USD so converting twice isn't ideal. I appreciate her helping me out by doing the exchange and conversion. I'm really excited to stay in her home - it's really close to Disney but is in a nice neighbourhood and the house is perfectly equiped for my party of 7. I stumbled upon her house by fluke when I was trolling vacation rentals on VRBO.

Do you have a link for the home?

Is it better to book ahead or closer to your travel times when renting? We are going to be there Dec 30-Jan 5 and am wondering if prices go up closer to those dates or if they go down as they haven't been rented yet?

Some places offer last minute discounts, I would say most don't. And of course you run the risk of the place getting booked. The house we rent starts booking over a year in advance, and the price stays the same. For us, we're not willing to risk missing out on it, so we'll be booking for next summer's trip in the next couple of months.

Personally if i was planning at trip during what is one of the peak seasons (usually parks experience closures on New Years) I would NOT wait to book. Once you're sure you're going I would book what you want and then stop looking for something cheaper. Sorry if that comes across as blunt, but that isn't a time of year that you'll find many discounts.
