Looking to rent a 1 bed/GVC villa during Christmas week but only for 3 nights, Dec. 23-26. The point chart made it look like it's only by the week at that time. Just thinking maybe someone wouldn't need the whole week. How much of a pipe dream is this, LOL? And, what would be an approx. cost? Thanks!!

You do not need to rent the entire week. It would be 186 points for a 1 bedroom villa for those three nights. Multiply that times anywhere from $11-15 per point to get an idea of what it will cost(2,046-2,790). Right now the three nights are available, but if you are going to act, you had better do it quickly. You are VERY close to the 7 night window opening for all DVC members to rent at VGC. Right now, it is during the advanced booking window when only owners at that resort can make reservations.

I would start sooner rather than later but I'd say your chances are slim. You are trying to book the hardest resort to get into at the peak time.

Do the prices usually include tax? Parking? And do the DVC owners set the price per point? Just trying to get an idea how much more a villa would be. We have 3 teenagers, and it's getting hard to cram into one room, but with the price of one room, there's no way we could do 2. We stayed at the GC a few years ago over Christmas and just loved the decorations, etc. Looked into staying at a Good Neighbor Hotel and just doesn't look nearly as "Christmasy".

There is no tax and if you are staying on points, it also includes parking. Owners set their own prices for their points and you would be hard pressed to find an owner at GCV renting their points for much less than $14 because the demand is so high and the supply is so low. With a 1 bedroom villa you have two bathrooms, a washer/dryer, and a full kitchen.

I know there is something of a romance so to speak about staying in the hotel when it is all done up. However, u could stay at a good neighbor hotel and just view it as a room with a bed and then just visit and spend all ur time in the parks and the hotels. That's the way I do it. U guys stay at VGC and kick the kids to the good neighbor hotel if u feel they are old and mature enough. The good neighbors are so close u won't be far apart
