renting DVCs....?

i am a newbie at this and would really like some info, 7 of us adults are planning a trip for '09. i am looking into all my accomodation options. is there any way, and if there is, how do i go about renting DVCs?
any info is GREATLY appreciated

Please be sure and educate yourself on how a DVC reservation is very different from a regular hotel reservation, and the basics of “renting points”, as it is often referred to.

You can also rent directly through Disney with a CRO....it is more expensive than renting points from an owner, but also works like a standard hotel reservation. When renting points you are pretty much locked in and cannot cancel (esp short notice) and the owner is in control. It takes a lot of trust to rent points, as DVCMike said, make sure you understand that renting points is not the same as a hotel reservation, but you do save money.

When in '09? DVC owners can book 11 months from check out date at their home resort and 7 months from check out date at other DVC resorts. If you are thinking of a popular time, you might need that 11 month booking window.
