Now I know what the DVC is but my question is weather or not renting points is worth it. I will be going for 4 days in mid September for my honeymoon and want to stay somewhere nice. If I do rent these points can I still buy the ultimate park hopper, is there still daily maid service? Any information you can give or a site you can direct me to would be wonderful. Thanks:mickeybar :cloud9:

DVC accommodations are extrememly nice, among the best that you can get on property. You can ask for daily maid service at an additional charge ($15 per day) but most DVC members learn to live without it and seem to prefer not having it. Since you will be on your honeymoon, I understand your desire to be pampered. You can still purchase parkhopper tickets. I suggest you go to the DVC forum on these boards for more information than you will probably want!!!

As for whether it will be "worth it", I leave that to you. We are DVC owners and fully enjoy the benefits of our ownership.

Best of luck in your planning and marriage!!!

We rented points for BCV last fall, at the time points were renting for $10 (I don't know what they're renting for now). Renting is a great value, we stayed 6 nights @ BCV in Oct. for $830, when I priced it on the Disney website it would have been around $1900. Housekeeping does not come everyday, you can get that for an extra charge, that was not a big deal for us, we needed extra towels once & saw housekeeping in the hall and they gave us more. I don't know about the Ult. Hopper Pass, we purchased Hopper Passes. You could probably go with Park Hopper Plus passes. I hope this helps.

You will need to rent points from a DVC member. There is a board on this site. This transaction is between the two parties, so make sure you a comfortable with that.

DVC members don't get housekeeping on a daily basis, unless they pay for it. The cost of daily housekeeping is determined by the size of the room. I believe the lowest cost per day is $25, not $15, but I could be wrong. DVC members get a "trash and towel" day on the fourth day of a stay and a full cleaning on the 7th day.

Most DVC members don't miss daily housekeeping. In fact, we like it since we can come and go as we want to without worrying about when housekeeping will be in the room.

You will need to purchase park tickets. Since you are staying 4 days, your best bets would be the Park Hopper or UMP. If you plan on returning to WDW within a year, a Annual Pass might also make sense.

You should really get started on trying to rent points if that is your decision since most DVC members plan their trips well in advance.

Definitely look into renting points. You can do that over on the DVC Rent and Trade board right here on the DIS ;)

If it's your honeymoon I would recommend the 1BR because of the nice extra space and the jacuzzi. It will cost a bit more than a studio but it is really worth it. You need to get on the ball with it though because that's a popular time to go!!

I prefer not to have maid service....actually I get annoyed when they do show up for trash and towel on the 4th day :teeth: I like to be able to leave my room when I want, and not worry about them waking me up. When they replace the towels and the trash on the 4th day, that's more than enough for me :) I don't need someone to pick up after me LOL
