Is the pool at BCV still off the list of we could visit? We tried to rent there, but they were booked, so we are staying at OKW, which we are totally excited about, but our 7 year old and I were really wanting to check it out on our arrival day. Thanks! :goodvibes

No you cannot hop there. This is our home resort and they are very strict about this.

pretty sure poolhopping requires a member card, which renters will not have.

but even DVC members cannot hop to BCV, AKV or BLT.

Oh darn it. I didn't think so, but thought maybe the rules had changed in the past few years.

Can anyone confirm if DVC point renters can pool hop? We wont be hopping this trip as we are there only for 3 nights, and OKW has a fantastic pool. But now I am curious. I thought a friend that rents a lot hops.

Since they changed the systems over I believe it no longer will say dvc on your room key. So the only way to prove your a dvc member is with your member card. You won't have one so I would not count on being able to hop.

simply, renters are not entitled to pool hopping. your friend may have not gotten caught (yet), but others have been told to leave a pool when they were not supposed to be using it. as said,
from the DVC member site:

When staying on your Membership at Disney's Vero Beach Resort or any DVC Resort at the Walt Disney World Resort, you and any Guests staying with you are permitted to use most of the other Disney Vacation Club and Walt Disney World Resort hotel pools (in addition to the pool at the resort hotel at which you are staying) if they are not at capacity. If the pool you are visiting reaches capacity, you may be asked to leave in order to accommodate Guests of that resort hotel. Please check with a host or hostess at the front desk of the resort you wish to visit before you go to find out about pool-access availability. You must present your current Key to the World card with your "DVC Member" designation on it to use the other resort hotel pools.

Pool hopping is not offered for those renting points at ANY resort.

Thank you for the clarification. I know pool hopping is a hot topic...I would never try to beat/cheat the system. I thought I had either read it somewhere, or like I said my friend may have said it(but maybe not). We are perfectly happy at any pool, especially in January when it's usually like 20 degrees back home. We always take the pool into account when choosing a resort. I guess we need to get on a BC reservation earlier next time :thumbsup2

I'm an associate on hubby's membership, so DS and I can't pool hop unless he and his membership card are with us!

But with Beach Club, no one can hop there (and a few other pools).

The OKW pool is fun, though! And definitely check out the pool back at the Turtle Pond area with the snack shack...it's a really nice little pool. DS and I enjoyed it more than we enjoyed the big pool.

Hi--just returned from a stay at the Yacht Club and was asked by a lifeguard to present my room key prior to being able to enter the main pool area. Also, he then applied a color-coded wrist band to identify me as a resort guest. FYI.

Is the quiet pool at the Beach Club also excluded from the pool hopping privilege? I thought the exception only mentions Stormalong Bay and the Beach Club Villas pool.

yes. all BC/YC pools are excluded from hopping.

The specific wording is:

Pool hopping is not available at Bay Cove Pool at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort, Uzima Pool and Samawati Springs Pool at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, Stormalong Bay at Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts, and the leisure pool at Disney's Beach Club Villas.

Is the leisure pool the same as the quiet pool? Are there pools at BC that aren't at the villas area?

From the list, the Contemporary pool (not bay lake's pool) isn't restricted, so if there's a separate "leisure" pool at BCV vs BC, it's possible it's not restricted either.

Thanks! That's what I meant, I was sure I had read it like that before.

The Beach Club Villas pool is located on the side of the resort, where the parking lot is, along the villas building. On the other side, near the walkway to Epcot is another pool, mostly used by hotel guests, it seems that one then is available for pool hopping! It's a great place to take a break from either Epcot or the Studios, after all, it's only a short walk or boatride away and very nice to cool of the feet.

Also just noticed (although it is pretty obvious) that the Yacht Club also has its own quiet pool. That one should also be available for pool hopping.

i should bite my tongue for saying this, but the most awesome quiet pool in on the Inn side of BWV. first boat stop from international gateway.
