Renting DVC for the first time... have a few questions

We are planning on renting DVC points through a private owner for next June. Our plan is to stay at either VGF or Poly in a studio. As I am reading through this forum I have realized that I have several questions that I hope someone can answer for me.

1. Does DVC provide trash bags daily or do I need to bring them?
2. What is the cost of extra towels? I really would like them replaced often.
3. What is the cost of an extra cleaning if we decide to get one? (We are staying for 10 nights.) How far in advance do I need to schedule this?

I'm sure that I will think of extra questions but this is all that I can think of right now.

TIA! :disrocks:

If you need more trash bags you can ask for them. Here's the info on all the housekeeping and charges for additional items or cleaning:

"Trash & Towel Service
For stays of 7 nights or fewer, Trash & Towel Service is provided on day 4, regardless of whether you're staying on a Member-discounted cash reservation, Vacation Points reservation, or a combination of both.

With Trash & Towel Service, Housekeeping will:

  • Empty trash and replace liners in trash bins
  • Provide fresh bathroom linens
  • Replace bath amenities as needed
  • Replenish facial tissues, paper towels and toilet paper
  • Replenish coffee, sugar, cream and sweeteners
Full-Cleaning Service
For stays of 8 or more nights, Full-Cleaning Service is provided on day 4 and Trash & Towel Service is provided on day 8, regardless of whether you're staying on a Member-discounted cash reservation, Vacation Points reservation, or a combination of both. This cycle repeats for stays longer than 8 days.

With Full-Cleaning Service, Housekeeping will provide everything included with the Trash & Towel Service, plus:

  • Change the bed linens
  • Vacuum and dust the vacation villa
  • Clean the bathroom(s)
  • Clean the kitchen/kitchenette and wash the dishes
For all stays regardless of the length of the stay, daily trash removal will be provided. Rental Guests (non-Members or Disney Vacation Club Members not booking through Membership) receive Full-Cleaning Services every day.

For all of the above, additional Housekeeping Services may be purchased.

Why not stay at both resorts? It feels like two vacations. Better yet, stay at an MK resort, then move to an Epcot resort.

Don't forget that the owner you are dealing with will be a great resource. Most of them are more than happy to answer your questions about your DVC stay.

If you request a full cleaning on a day when Trash and Towel was scheduled, you pay only the difference between the two.

Good luck with that one, we have issues just getting them to clean when they are supposed to.

Is it correct, I read in the lastest issue of Disney Files, Summer 2018 page 16 under Daily Rom Inspections that Cast Members will remove trash bags as an enhanced service for Disney Vacation Club Members. Is this daily standard practice now or is that the way it "should be"???:faint: Thanks!

Checking in on every occupied room and villa on a daily basis is now standard practice. While trash removal is supposed to be done with each visit, it's kind of hit or miss in practice.

Due to the Vegas shooting, Disney decided that checking rooms would lower their liability should a similar thing happen on property. To soften the blow of someone checking your room, DVC did the Disney twist and announced that they would remove trash daily during the room check. In actuality we have seen mixed results. Sometimes no room check or trash removal, took kitchen trash only, took trash that we put by the door with no room check, checked each room and took all trash.

Just got back from 5 nights at Poly, trash was removed daily. Towel service on day 4.

Thank you, all! At least for new policy, which becomes inconvenient at times of a Daily Room Inspection, they will take the trash on the way out. :goodvibes

We like to be "settled" in one resort. Also, we have a 6 year old that absolutely loves the MK. He loves the Agent P adventures in EP but I can't see us spending every night there. :)
