Hello, we are flying into MCO and arriving at Caribbean Beach via Magical Express in May. A few days into our trip we plan on renting a car only for a few days. We will be taking Magical Express back to the airport. My question is if we are arriving via Magical Express how will they know which nights we have the rental car? Do we need to go to the front desk and notify them? Will they charge us parking for our whole stay or just the nights we actually have a rental car? TIA

Likely they will not know since you are arriving via ME. You should just let them know what nights you will have a car.

The bigger question is have you checked the rental car pricing in the Orlando market? They are really short on cars and prices have been quite high recently. Are you planning to rent at the Disney Alamo / National office at the Disney Car Care Center?

You should check pricing and book as soon as possible.

Thank you!! I actually booked last night using my works corporate code. We got a Ford Focus for 6 days for $189 including tax and fees at the Hertz 4 miles off property. We may inquire about paying an extra $30 to have them drop the car off too us!

We went in September and decided to drive down due to Covid. We will be fully vaccinated this trip, so we feel OK flying. It was really nice having a car we believe we saved a lot time and we felt safer not having to wait for the buses. Especially now that they are running on reduced capacity, waiting for buses multiple times per day . This made it easy to do pool breaks everyday, when the parks got crowded in the afternoons. I'm assuming crowds have only gotten larger since early September. Also, now that park hopping is back it seems worth it to rent the car for convenience.

this trip we plan on doing epcot/Hollywood studios on days we don't have the car at the beginning and end of the trip because we can use the gondolas at Caribbean Beach. When we have the car we will do the other parks and some off site activities. Does this sound like a good plan?

Scanning your MB to enter the parking lot may trigger the parking fee. Just check with the front desk that it's only applied to the nights you actually have a car parked in the lot.
