I can offer some info, but the seasoned people will have to fill in the rest. Last Jan. we stayed at YC for 3 days (with DH who was at business meeting) then transferred to POP. Getting a car was easy. I made the arrangements prior and got a shuttle from the hotel to the car place, which I think is outside of MK. (not sure though)
The shuttle dropped me off, then I got the car and drove back to hotel. When I was done with the car (when we transferred over to POP), I drove back and waited for a shuttle to take me back to POP. Overall, it was pretty simple. Hardest part was getting around by myself...took the senic routes a couple of times while looking for the Disney outlets!

Enterprise or National I used, but again am not sure.
On a side note...I just rented a car in Mass. using
Avis. They now offer a GPS system for an extra $10 a day. I used it, since this was my first trip to Mass. It took getting used to, but it was worth the money. I suspect other car companies are offering this now too.
