we are usually tenters but would love to camp but had an idea of renting a travel trailer instead of tenting. is there any trailer company in the area that will set up a trailer for you since we will be flying into orlando?

thanks
cheryl

The only rentals I have ever seen (anywhere) are small class c units (the ones you drive). Check out www.1800rv4rent.com to see if they have a facility in Orlando. I think they do.
You could catch a taxi to their business then drive it yourself to FW then return it. FW does not allow these companies to deliver the units there (I believe).
BUT, actually, unless you just absolutely have to camp, by the time you pay for a FW site and an RV rental you will probably spend the same amount of $$ that you would on a cabin or hotel room. Depending on your season, etc. I myself love to camp but don't know if I could cost justify it if it is up there with a hotel cost.

Yes, I'm doing this exact thing in August. I'm having a trailer delivered to Fort Wilderness by a local company. I will not endorse this company since they have a VERY excessive cancellation policy - almost to the point of fraud. They charge a $600 fee to reserve a unit and then if your plans change and you need to cancel, they keep your $600 plus 'miscellaneous administrative fees' - which still have not been explained to me. I had initially reserved for July 4th week 2006 so we reserved it early but hubby got called out of country on those dates. I called to cancel the camper and was told I could change the dates but could not cancel without losing the $600+ (over a year out!!!).

If you might be willing to rent an RV instead of a trailer, check out El Monte RV

From thie web site:

A Fly/Drive location is specially set up to handle customers who fly in to the location for travel. Only Fly/Drive locations can provide housekeeping equipment and airport hotel transfers.

Orlando is one of their Fly/Drive locations

Hi, onfreewheels phone number is 888.647.6665 We had a great experience with them, wish I remembered the guys name we were dealing with. It was very simple. We drove to Orlando, picked up the motorhome, and drove to Ft. Wilderness!
