First of all, I guess I just got talked into renting strollers this trip!
We are a family of 4 with a 6 yo and 3.5 yo. We always bring strollers, but we always also bring my parents too! My husband can not stand bringing the strollers, and he thinks it will be much easier to rent "if we need to"
Please tell me.........is that a mistake? Will I regret it?????

Secondly what are the prices for a double? per day and do they do per stay or week or what??

I am with your husband on this one. Its nice to leave the park and not have to lug a stroller around. I think we paid $8 per day or $30 for 4 days. They do a combined day thing for cheaper than per day. We were just there but I completely forget. Thats for the single and the double was going to be $2 more per day.

The doubles are $18 a day and hard plastic. You may want to bring a lightweight umbrella for the 3.5 year old and rent for the 6 yo if you need to. For the price of renting, you could buy 2 lightweight umbrella strollers that are a breeze to fold and carry, your parents are an extra set of hands and you won't have to wait in line for rentals. Have a great trip.

I prefer to rent. One year of trying to get a 2 year old and a stroller on the tram at the same time convinced me. I pay for the week on the first day and then I don't have to wait in line again.

We rented during our stay once and I just did not like those big bulky strollers that they rent out at Disney. They do offer a length of stay rental, although that does not always guarantee you will be able to get one each day or at each park that you go to-as long as you arrive earlier in the day, that is usually not an issue though. My kids knew they would not have the comforts of home type stroller when we went to Disney, so they dealt with lightweight umbrella strollers. I've done Disney with just me and my kids who were 4 & 6 at the time I ventured with them solo and never had a problem collapsing and toting our umbrella stroller-and we were at the mercy of Disney transportation back then too. But I can understand not wanting one more thing to deal with...when you have little kids, it sometimes feels like your bringing the kitchen sink and every last thing you have to lug with you counts. Try renting...the worst that can happen is that it is a lesson learned for the next trip...the best is that it works out perfectly for you.

By age 6 our Disney seasoned ds was able to do without a stroller. I would rent a single stroller and let the 6 year old rest in it as needed---it may not be as often as you think.

If your 6 yr old will fit in an umbrella stroller, I'd bring 2 umbrella strollers. It would be cheaper than renting and you'd have a stroller when leaving the parks, which can be helpful when the kids are tired. The last time we brought two umbrella strollers, our kids were 6 & 4. This year, we went when they were 7 & 5. We did not bring strollers for them since we have a new baby and we were bringing his car seat/stroller. They walked for 3 days and did really well, but DS5 was definitely starting to move slower by day 4. We rented a double for the remainder of our trip. DS5 used it a lot and DD7 used it occasionally.

Like a PP said, a double stroller is $18 per day! We did it with 2 umbrella strollers. It wasn't hard at all and I was very thankful to have my stroller at downtown disney and the hotel ... it's a long walk back to your room after a long day and a late night in the parks.

I would just bring an umbrella for the younger child. The 6 yr old should be fine walking, we went when my DD was 4 and didn't take a stroller and my DS walked all day at 5 when we went over Easter. Kids have more energy than adults IMO.
