Hi, i am new here and
I actually have three questions.

1.) How much is the typical asking cost of a single point? I was sort of browsing earlier and I saw a couple instances where people were asking for $10 a point and i was curious if this was normal.

2.) If you rent points, is admission to the parks included? I could not tell for the life of me and this would make my trip come much sooner if it was included.

3.) Would it be likely to get a studio room if the trip was mid-january or is it too late to do that at this point.

Lastly, we are thinking of staying at the boardwalk Villas, is this a good one or would you reccomend something else. I found a time that we could get a trip for 85 points when i would be missing minimal school and it was for the Boardwalk Villas

I think this may be moved to the Rent/Trade board, but in case not:

1) You can find a price variant of $9 - $13 depending on your dates, availability, flexibility and amount of points you are buying. If you are only buying 20 points, you will pay a premium per point. If you are buying 250 points, you may get a better bargain.

2) No, Admission is not included.

3) It depends on your actual dates, and which DVC resort you are interested in. Find a renter that you are interested in working with, and they will check availibility for you.

4) Every single DVC (or disney resort, for that matter) has its die hard fans. If you love the turn of the century architecture, spend lots of time at Epcot, or like the boardwalk area, then it's great. If you will spend all of your time at the Magic Kingom, then Wilderness Lodge may be a better bet. If you expect to hit up downtown disney for several days, then SSR is great! Look at your needs, and wants, and know that you will have a great trip.

Thanks! ;)

If you decide you want to rent, go to the Rent/Trade board and read all the posting rules first. Threads on that board are fully moderated, and certain posting rules apply.

Also read the 'Word for the Wise' at the bottom of the rules section. Information a 1st time renter should know.

As for January, it may be possible as January is a slow month for WDW. But also, slow months for WDW can often be popular times for DVC.

85 points for a week at the BWV in January means you are looking at the cost of a standard view studio. It's not very likely that a standard view room will still be available. Becasue they are such a good bargain, the standard view units are almost always booked early in the reservation window. It would be bvery unusual to find one available this close to arrival - especially since you are looking at an entire week.

Better to plan a paying for a preferred view if you want to stay at the BWV in January, 2007. That will run 104 points for a week.

Best wishes -

If you are looking at the first week, it may be sold out already because of the marathon.
