Is it me or does it seem the rental prices are decreasing?? I've been watching the pricing and I've seen more $8 and $9 prices. Today there is actually a $6 per point price.

Actually no. I have been speaking with some DISR's about their rental rates. The price is actually more like $11-$12/pt. If you see low points, they are probably points that will expire, or reservation points. Something where they can't bank them, have to use or lose. Also, if they aren't very many pts. that are to be rented, they will just try and virtually give them away. I have plans on renting mine for $12.00 pt. I know someone who has already been renting at this price and is going to increase it next year. Hope this helps.
Nope. If you look closer, you'll see that those low cost points have to be used by 1/31/08. The odds of actually getting a reservation in that time frame are practically nil, unless you wanted to move around a lot. They may not be able to move those points at any price as there are no rooms available.
I'm glad to hear about the $11 to $12 range. Both of you are right about the time frame aspect of the points. I would venture to guess that points in good standing will command a much better price, at least when we rent our points are never distressed therefore we would like at least $12.
I am renting my points right now for the first time (long story as to why...certainly do not plan on this being a common thing for us). In any case, I listed at $11 pp and no one even blinked at that rate, so I think it is ok...these are likely distressed points you are looking at.
