Has anyone flown with Allegiant before? They are definately cheap, do you get what you pay for? Are they decent, on time, etc?
& last question, if you have flown with them, have you ever gotten your rental car thru them? How far is the Sandford airport from Disney?
They are actually out of our local airport but I'm nervous, I have read some bad reviews online so I was wanting to get 1st hand opinions. We'd have to get a rental & I can reserve it thru them at a pretty good discount but, are there more fees once you get there to pick up your vehicle? It seems to be a way cheap rental rate for a minivan.
To fly SW we'd have to drive about 3 hours to the Raleigh/Durham airport or to Richmond where the rates on Delta are decent as well. Allegiant will save us an extra 2.5 hour drive, 1 night in a hotel & about $200. But, is it worth the savings if it's a night mare?! WYYD?

We live in Canada just outside Toronto and just flew with Allegiant for the first time last week for March break out of Youngstown, Ohio to St. Petersburgh Clearwater airport. We always fly out of the US for the savings because flying out of Toronto is ridiculous. Was well worth the 4 hr drive. We got fares for $44.00 each way or $124.00 rt including taxes. Total for 4 tickets was $496.00. We just took a carry on bag and opted for open seating so no extra fees. We got seats together as well and flight was early. Would definitely fly them again. They are the only airline that flys out of Youngstown on Wednesday and Saturday.

I don't know about the car rental but I'm thinking you can probably get a better deal booking on your own, I paid $220.00 with taxes using Alamo for a week and had a minivan. Got a great deal.

I just flew Allegiant to Vegas a few weeks ago. Their boarding process leaves a little to be desired. I paid for 2 seats together (around $15-20 per seat if I remember). The flight was completely full and people started lining up about 1/2 hour before boarding began. First they board disabilities and priority. Then it is paid seats. Finally it is open boarding. The problem we had was we had paid seats and people were lined up everywhere so we weren't sure where to get in line when they called paid seats boarding. We did end up getting on the plane at the correct time but once open boarding was called, a couple came through with paid seats and someone was already in their seats and refused to budge and the FAs said it was open boarding so they couldn't do anything. The couple was really mad because they couldn't get through in time and with the poor announcements and everything for boarding.
When we boarded the plane, there was a couple in our seats but we made them move because they had boarded at the wrong time. They said they hadn't listened to the announcements.
It was just chaotic and you had to really pay attention and move around the open boarding people if you had a seat.
But the flights were cheap! So I guess it was worth the price.

They were early getting in on the way down and on the way back for that flight.

I didn't use the rental car option with them.
