Hi everyone!!!!

we will be arriving on June 20th and departing on June 24, and cannot decide whether to get a rental car, take a taxi or shuttle it to the hotel. We have 5 in our party. suggestions????:confused3

Well I think a taxi would be very expensive from there. A taxi from the Orange County (John Wayne) airport is $40-$45 one way plus tip.......so a taxi from LAX would be at least double that one way.

Actually, if you're splitting a cab between people, it wouldn't be such a bad option.

You could check out Super Shuttle prices, or the Disneyland Resort Express, but after adding up the cost for each individual person, it may make more sense to just rent a car.

where would I find super shuttle prices/disneyland resort express prices?

The big question -- Are you going to want to explore the local area at all (for a trip to the beach, going to target for cheap supplies or a local off-park restaurant)?

If you plan to stay entirely on the property and have a stay of more than a few days a shuttle or bus is probably cheaper. However if it's a short stay or you want to go anywhere else during your stay a car is going to be a better deal vs 5 ride tickets.

We did SuperShuttle and loved it.
We rented a private van just for us. (it seats 9)
It cost us $104 each way.
It was cheaper than taking a shared ride shuttle, and we had it all to ourselves.
That is the only way I will do it from now on.

So private shuttles are charged by van, and shared by person?

Yes, a private van is charged by van so it was $104 for the whole van, no matter how many people are on it. (and I think they add tip right away, so with tax and tip it was $114)

Shared van, you pay per person.

There was 8 of us, so it was cheaper to rent our own small van, then to get on the big shared bus.
And then we didn't have to worry about it stopping at all the other passengers hotels.
We went from LAX to Harbour Blvd in 40 minutes.
When we did a shared bus, it took us 120 minutes.

:confused3 that is a very good big question, and i guess that is what we need to determine. We are planning on doing mainly DL no beach - maybe target would be a good idea. Also planning on visiting SIL, but they could come to us. Is it an easy drive?
