Rental car reservations.

We are going to Orlando in July. We be there the 9th thru the 19th the last 6 days at WDW. When should I start getting serious about rental car reservations? We are going to need a minivan since there will be 7 of us. The first 4 days we are in Orlando we will be at the Triplet Connection Convention so there will be other families looking to rent minivans. Thanks for any advice.

I try to book something soon after making my air/room reservation. Then I will check periodically to see if I could get a better price. One time I got a better deal within 48 hours of departure!

Another aspect I keep in mind when booking a rental car is if the agency rental desk is in the airport or off-premises. IMHO, you can't beat the convenience of an in-airport agency, especially if you have small children!
