I was just pricing out rental car prices for our 9 day stay at the end of August and prices were OUTRAGEOUS!!! I checked both MCO & TPA for Alamo & National and rcvd price quotes of $500-$700 !!! :scared1:

I have NEVER paid more than $200 a week and can often find GREAT deals.

I usually book my cars within the month prior to travel - is it common for rental rates to be this inflated 3 months in advance? Or has the rental industry gone mad??!!

Again I was only scooping out approximate prices at this point BUT this info has me worried!

TIA

Just wait they will come down. When I first looked at rates for my May trip the price was $300. Now my 8 day rental is $84.

Try going to carrentalsavers.co they have good codes to use. Also I dont know what size car you need but try using this code at Budget you might get a good rate BCD X474200. I booked minivan for 298 for a week in June. Good Luck

My rental rate started over $400.00 for mid June. I now have a rental with Thrifty for $146.00 for a mid size car, which includes all taxes and fees. Keep checking them daily. The other day the base rate for Thrifty for my dates was $104 and the next day it jumped up to $127.

I haven't had much luck with getting my Alamo or National rates down to less then $230.00 for Alamo and National is about $50.00 more then Alamo.

Update... After I replied I checked out rates from National and Alamo and they dropped considerably. Now my National rental is $151.00 using the Continental code and Border's coupon code ($30.00 off). I am an Emerald Club member so I am so happy right now.
