I was in a minor car accident right before Christmas, and my car is finally being repaired. I have never rented a car before, and I have a question about insurance coverage. If I was to get into an accident or get pulled over while driving the rental, how do I prove insurance coverage? I am covered, of course, while driving my own car, but the insurance cards have the make/model/license plate number, so those do no good in a rental. I did not purchase insurance coverage through Enterprise. What would I do in a case like this when the officer says, "License, registration, and insurance"? The registration is in the car, but as for the insurance, would I just explain that it's a rental? I apologize if this is a silly question, this is just new to me. Thanks!
