Rental Car or Shuttle Service?

I need some advice to figure out what is more economical . We will have a rental car for the first few days (Sat-Tues) of our trip in Aug while we visit my friend in San Pedro. My plan was to return the car when we go to Disneyland (planning to stay at Candy Cane Inn) for three days (Tues to Fri) as I assumed everything was pretty much within walking distance and we wouldn't need the car (correct me if I am wrong here).

On Friday morning we fly out of LAX at 9:40 am off to our cruise in Honolulu so we need a way to get to the airport. How much does a shuttle service or taxi cost (there are 4 of us --Dh, myself and two dd's)? I have no idea how far LAX is from Anaheim? I am not sure if would be cheaper to just keep the rental car (about another $100 for the three days at DL) though is it a stressful drive to LAX during the morning rush hour--we have to be at the airport at least 2hrs before our flight) or would it be better to use a taxi or shuttle service?

What I did last month was rent a car from Alamo (located in DTD) and drove it back to the airport. We got a full-size car for around $36. I kept checking back as prices fluctuated A LOT. I originally booked it at close to $50, then it dropped to around $36, and then it went up over $50 a couple of days later.

We didn't leave to head to the airport until around 11am, so traffic wasn't too bad then. Not sure what it would be like when you would need to go though. As for time, by noon we were on Alamo's shuttle bus heading to the airport - less than an hour when there wasn't much traffic.
