Staying at Old Key West. Hoping to get to the parks early (1/2 hoour before official opening), break for the afternoon and return to the same park or park hop later in the day. What would be more convenient or time efficient, driving to the entrances or taking the shuttles?
Thanks

We use Disney Transportation for MK and drive to the other parks. We always rent a car when we go because its easier for us to drive than to wait for the busses, but you will get lots of other people who only use disney transportation and never rent a car, so its more a personal choice.

We always rent a car. We drive to the park when it opens and if we break for the day, we take the bus back to our hotel and then take it back to the park so that our car is still at the front and we will get to it quickly at the end of the day. We lucked out and never had a long wait to or from the parks. The only time we ever waited long was when we were taking the bus from MK to MGM. We took the transportation from the TTC and waited 40 minutes. We would have been better off walking to the Contemporary and taking the bus to MGM. It seems as if the buses are quicker when you are at a resort and not at TTC.

if you rent a car you will still need to go to the transportation ceter if you go to MK. if it was me i would bus it :wizard:

I have to agree with the above poster that said bus to MK, rental car everywhere else. Disney's bus transportation drops you off practically at the front gates of the MK, whereas if you drive, you still have to transfer to the ferry or monorail; it will take you an additional 10 minutes or so if you choose to drive.

That said, I only use bus transportation to the MK. I drive everywhere else. I hate being dependant on Disney transportation, and having a rental car is so much more convenient, especially going to Downtown Disney. Plus, having a rental car gives you the freedom to go off-site, if you need to go grocery shopping or simply want to go shopping at the outlets.
