Ok here's the situation: We are going down and staying onsite. DH is on a business trip at Marriott World Center during the day.

So I got a pretty good deal on a convertable (just under $200 for the week) in terminal at the airport. But between that cost and the cost to park at MWC, is it worth it? Is it just better for the rest of us to use Disney transportation to play and DH to use cabs to get back and forth? I'm guessing the cabs could run up to half the cost of the rental.

What do you all think?

I abhor using cabs. Just my prejudice.

With a rental car you can save money by going off site for some meals. You will get a little more park time on your last day by being able to get rolling back to the airport directly from a park versus having to plan your return to the resort to take Magical Exprss.

Size up an econobox hardtop instead of the convertible. That will make the cost comparison a close call. Do the data gathering (cab fare, etc.) and do the math if money saving is the only objective.

The covertable is cheaper than any economy cars, I have found because of the deal I got. I'm not even sure we'll put the top down because of the heat.

And we wont eat off property, except maybe at the airport. If I had the rental, though I would pick up some groveries off site.
