Rental Car Melbourne Airport to Port Canaveral

Looking for a little help from people of have done something similar...

So the current plan is to fly into MLB on a Sunday, rent a car there, drive to Kennedy Space Center and visit, then drive to our hotel (currently Residence Inn). Then Monday morning we'll return the car to a local office (not back at the airport) and then get a shuttle to the terminal.

Any recommendations on what car rental company would be best for this? It looks like Avis has an office near the port with a shuttle, but details are scarce on the website and I haven't had any luck reaching by phone. Any input you guys have would be welcome...

Did this last time we sailed. Very easy. Loved the airport. Rented from hertz which is in the same parking lot as the Residence Inn. Killed some time on the return trip by eating at the great airport grill (made to order, reasonably priced) and letting our little kids climb all over the indoor playground they have in the terminal. We also used the rental car and I grabbed a rotisserie chicken and some sides at Publix down the street from the hotel. Really easy

We have rented (and returned) at that Avis location a few times. They do run shuttles to the port regularly.
