Rental car -March break 2012 Lakeland

I got a great deal on a mini van rental out of Lakeland airport. I booked it for $488. They have a deal that gives Canadians 25% off. I noticed the rates for Christmas holidays are $1600!

I booked the van from USAVE - at Lakeland Linder Airport. The 25% off deal is listed on the website - it is for CDN travelling to Florida to warm up!

I thought I would throw this out there for thought. There is a Budget in Lakeland (not at the airport) and just checking a minivan from March 10 - 17th you can get a minivan for $236.22 after the $30 coupon is applied when you return the vehicle. Used BCD Number x474200 (travelocity public code) and E-Coupon MUGZ029. Looks like they have a free shuttle to pick you up at the airport since there is no Budget counter at the lakeland airport. I just checked google maps and it is 7 miles from the airport.

Hert and USAVE are the only agencies at the Lakeland airport. Other agencies might be a short taxi ride. Might even offer a complimentary shuttle. BUT their hours aren't set to the flights at Lakeland. The Budget office mentioned by the PP is open 8a-6p M-F, 8a-2p Sat and 10a-1p Sunday.

The office isn't open early enough to accommodate passengers on many morning flights. It's not open late enough to accommodate arriving passengers on delayed flights or on flights scheduled to land within an hour or two of the closing time.

The 2 onsite agencies have hours set to match incoming flights and will extend those hours, if necessary, to accommodate flight changes/delays.

People flying into Lakeland should price Hertz rental before booking airfare.

Thanks Webworm - I called Budget and they don't offer the shuttle service to this airport. I was considering taking a cab but they are not open for drop off of the vehicle when we depart. We have a really early flight ...this part sucks! I will keep checking Hertz for deals though.
