I have asked this before, but no one had a definite answer. I’m not sure who to call through Disney for an answer. We will have a rental car we plan on returning to Enterprise at the port. We plan on dropping off luggage, getting the Covid tests in the parking garage, then while awaiting the results have one person return the car and catch their shuttle back to meet us- can we await the results in the tents while he drops the car off? Can we even leave the parking garage, or should we just wait on our driver dropping the car off at the tents and be tested together when he returns? This all seems complicated. As seven of us, including g two needing car seats, are driving in the night before, renting a van is the cheapest option we have seen-

Interesting question, I would think once you're tested, you can't leave. Curious what DCL's answer is.
Well on chat they said it would be determined by their agents at the port and they can’t advise us! Maybe someone who arrives by bus or ride share can answer. If we could just wait on one member of our party to return to be tested or not all be tested at the same time or some such…..

We did B2B cruises on the Dream out of Port Canaveral last week. We drove our own car, but went through both testing procedures (parking garage for the 1st cruise and tents for the 2nd cruise). The biggest issue is that everyone in your travel party (everyone in your cabin, as well as everyone who arrives with you at the port) must remain together as you go through testing, whether it's in the garage or in the tents, and then through the check-in process together. Your Port Arrival Form QR codes and Inspire Diagnostics QR codes will be scanned multiple times so they know if anyone is missing during the arrival/testing/check-in process. My recommendation would be to drive the rental to the port and drop off all of your luggage and passengers first. The luggage can be whisked away by the porters while you turn in the rental car and your family waits at the curb for the shuttle to bring you back to the port. Then, you can all proceed to the tents together to start the testing process. We saw other families waiting at the curb and assumed they must have done the same thing (dropped luggage and family, then returned a rental car). Good luck, and have a great cruise!

Thanks for your reply. This is what we had planned for Friday and now I feel better about it.

On our recent Dream cruise while we were being tested we were advised that once we went to park in the garage to await results we were not supposed to get out of our vehicle. The reasoning being if you crossed paths with someone in the garage who may be asymptomatic we could conceivably contract Covid or vice versa.

Also, you pay for parking on the way into the garage so if you are not parking a car you can't just go into the garage to wait for results without paying first.

Have you priced out the car rental the whole time you will be on the cruise instead of 2 one-way rentals? For us, this trip, it was cheaper (even with the port parking fee) to keep the car the whole time instead of the two one-way rentals. This is not always the case but this time it was. We always book through Costco and they have been consistently less expensive.

Are you bringing your own car seats or renting from car rental agency...that could add a lot to the rental.
