Rental car drop off at MCO

I am planning to get a rental car at Port Canaveral at end of cruise. Will use it for the day (Seaworld), stay overnight in motel near airport and fly home very early in the morning.

Are the car rental places open very early in morning (4:30 / 5:30) for drop off?

If I drop it off really early the next day, that is a one day rental, right? If I get noon flight, then it counts as two day?

I have only rented a car once, all new to me!

Most rental companies operate 24/7/365 at MCO.

Be sure to shop around since you will be doing a one way rental.

I suggest sending just one person (the driver) to pick up the car. The shuttles between the port and the rental car agencies tend to get CROWDED. There are no rental agencies at Port Canaveral, they are locate off site.

Most of the big name car rental companies run on a 24 hour clock. Drop it off in 23 hours 59 minutes it's still one day. Drop off at MCO is pretty much 24x7. Picking up anywhere close to Port Canaveral might be a problem if you're looking for a car before 8 or 9am.

Thanks for the answers. The plan is to shuttle to the car rental place when I get off the ship. It is good to know that I can return the car anytime in teh wee hours of the morning at MCO.

What should I expect for a good one day rate? Priceline shows $52. Better with codes?
