Rental Car and Orlando or Tampa airport

For our next trip we are flying in on a Thursday and spending 3 nights in Clearwater before a week at Disney. Flights are the same cost into Orlando or Tampa airport. We will be flying home from Orlando airport. We will be getting a rental car for the entire trip. Does anyone have an opinion if it will be significantly cheaper if I do pick up and return from Orlando or will it not really make a huge difference if I pick up in Tampa and drop off in Orlando.

I think you need to check the options at several rental agencies. When we did something similar some years ago, we found several that did not charge a drop-off fee as long as the vehicle was returned to any Florida location. Hopefully, this is still the case.

We have done TPA pick up and MCO drop off with no one-way fee from Budget.

I used Dollar to pick up in Tampa and drop off in Orlando, it was a little more money but worth the convenience.
