Rental car agency at Port Canaveral

So we will be going to our POP resort by way of DME then a shuttle from POP to PC for our RCCL cruise, but for our ride back to MCO looking into renting a car for the drive. Is there a place right at PC we can pick one up from there, to be accepted for drop at MCO?

Also, any nice stops along that way of that 45 min drive; shopping, restaurants?

There are a few car rental locations on the main road leading up to the port. I can't recall the exact companies, but you should be able to find them on a Port Canavel visitors site.They have shuttles that travel to and from the port. We dropped off our car before our RCCL cruise and then pick another up after our cruise. It was very simple.

We used Budget in November and it worked out great. They have a shuttle that picks up at the cruise terminal and takes you to their location on the main road. There are no rental car companies located at the port. All require a short shuttle ride.

There is pretty much absolutly nothing to do on the Beach Line drive from Port Canaveral to MCO. No exits that go to anything special. Though when you exit for the airport, you can go away from the airport and there are a number of restaurants there. You can also fill up for gas, just don't go to any station that doesn't have their price on a visable sign.

We also used Budget. I rented the car at MCO stayed for two days in Cocoa Beach to visit KSC, returned the car to Budget and their shuttle drove us to the port. Did the reverse on way back, Budget shuttle picked us up at port and took us to their office to get a new rental.

As PP said the Beach Line is a nice drive but nothing really screams out at you to stop! If you want to sightsee I'd stay for a while in Cocoa Beach or Kennedy Space Center before driving back to the airport.

Going to definitely check out Budget's site. Also wondering if they would shuttle us from our WDW resort to their office to get a car to drive TO Port Canaveral?? We were going just do a shuttle but this sounds much more in expensive.

Will also look in KSP as well since we dont even fly out of MCO until a day after our cruise. We are staying the night at MCO, so will be nice to go someplace before we return the car and settle in at MCO.

no cars "at Port Canaveral" as there is no town of Port Canaveral and there are no agencies in the port

you want the Cape Canaveral or Cocoa Beach locations

the choices available are Hertz, Budget, AVIS, Dollar, Thrify and Enterprise within a few miles of the port on A1A - all run shuttles to/fm the port

Between Orlando Airport and US1, a few miles west of the port, there isn't even a gas station to speak of . . .

Couldn't you use DME to get back to the airport to pick up a Budget car at the airport to drive to Port Canaveral?

No. Disney won't do this, since my flight to go home is not that day. Not flying home for another 4 days later.

But I may not even go with Budget as I just called them and they want $142 for the one day drive??? Did I not request the right reservation? We need to get from POP to PC. Picking up the car to get to.

For this price I may as well go with a shuttle bus that takes us from our resort to PC. Let them do the driving.
