Rental at Sanford

We got a great airline rate into Sanford, however it gets in at 9:55pm. When I try to get a rental car some say they are closed 10:00pm. Has anyone else rented a car late at Sanford?

I just reserved a car with Alamo. The instructions say to book a reservation for regular closing time and then call the office directly to confirm pickup if your flight arrives after regular business hours.

We actually have the reverse problem. We have to return the car before regular business hours, so I booked it to return at opening and then I'll call them a couple weeks before we travel to let them know the arrangement.

We booked with Hertz because we're flying out of Sanford Airport at 6:45 a.m. on 6/30 and Hertz has a 'drop box' meaning you can just leave your car at the return area and drop your keys in a box. That seems a lot less 'hokey' then calling in advance and then hoping they actually have someone there to accept your return.
