Rent car or use Town Car

I'm taking my parents & 15 y.o. DS next August

When I go w/my son, we usually have a towncar pick us up no problem. This time, I know we'll be renting a car for at least a day, maybe two, to go over to Clearwater and see our old house, neighborhood, etc. We may also use it for transportation to SeaWorld.

Looking at the prices of the towncar + renting a car for about 2 days, it's looking like we should rent a car for the entire week - even if it sits most of the time in the parking lot.

Does anyone have any opinion on this? I just hate to "waste" the car, but I think it may be more economical than doing the towncar/2-day rental thing.

I wouldn't look at it as wasting the car if you're using it to get back and forth to the airport, Clearwater, and maybe Seaworld. We've done both before and if I want to go to offsite places I'd rather have a car. I also like to drive to certain parks and it's nice to have the car when eating at other resorts.
