Rent Car or Uber?

I'm going on an April 2025 4-day trip with two full days at WDW probably at Epcot and Hollywood studios staying at the Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort resort. I'm trying to figure out if it would be cheaper to rent a car or Uber anywhere. Any advice?

Depends on how many times you're going to need an Uber. IME, if you are taking more than two trips, then it's cheaper to have a car than use Uber.

Just download the Uber app and plug in two dates similar to when you are going and price it against that of a car rental (don’t forget gas cost) to find out which method is less expensive.

It sounds like OP is not just looking at using the rental for to and from MCO. They are not staying onsite and have two non park days. Also, when trying to price Uber to compare to a rental, don't forget to include tip, which will cost you a whole lot more than gas.

I don’t drive so just use my math skills to compare prices w/o RL applications 🙂. Once Uber gave me a price it would be easy enough to figure out tip though. 👋🏾

Do you have Disney APs? If not add the cost of theme park parking to your numbers.

Does Club Whyndham charge for guest parking? How much will the Wyndham shuttle cost? 2 non park days. Staying at the resort or going where?

I do not so I have added that to my consideration.

As far as I know no charge for the parking though there is not shuttle anymore.

Bonnet Creek is all but on Disney property. Round Trip ride share will probably cost less then daily parking.

I did a quite back of the envelope check on the Uber app getting from the hotel to magic kingdom and it was $15-20 dollars so the cost does end up almost being a wash (last I knew, parking was $30).

One question I did have on Uber'ing from the parks was at park close how hard is it to get an Uber?

This I can answer from direct experience 😁: Not hard at all. Go to the designated pick up/ drop off area, order your cab and that’s it. Generally, you’ll be riding in the car 5-10 minutes later.

Only time had a serious wait was a New Year’s Eve at DS. Highways were jammed pack and it took at least an hour for our driver to make it into the pickup area. ‘Course taxis, buses and private cars were going through the same wait so well misery loves company.

Ah great! That was my one concern. I'm leaning towards the uber/lyft option but i'll still probably having a little gnawing fear of not having my own car. You can get away with it usually in some larger northeast cities in the US (I've known folks in Boston who don't own a car) but it's more difficult out in the burbs and probably even more essential in rural areas.

You said you were going to DHS and EPCOT. Ride share should be around $10 with tip.

You want to save.a few dollars. Monorail from TTC to EPCOT. Ride share from EPCOT.

Want to save a few minutes. Walk to the Contemporary and get your ride share back. You can't take ride share to the Contemporary for the MK.

A rental car gives you flexibility. I think you’ll be happier spending the extra money and renting a car
