Just wondering if it's worth it to try and rent a car off site HNL for a 10 day rental? I know that rental prices are more expensive to pick up and drop off at the airport. I just wonder if it's worth it to try and rent off site at HNL and how difficult it would be to get to a non airport location with flights that arrive and depart around 9pm?

I doubt off site would be cheaper, it’s very convenient to rent at the airport there as all the cars are in a garage right at the airport with no shuttle necessary.

I can't imagine the price would be cheap enough to justify the hassle and the cost of Uber to get there and back to the airport. Keep checking back on the prices, they fluctuate all the time. The cheapest is typically 3-6 weeks out from your trip. So book one, but keep checking.

If you're a Costco member, I have consistently found the cheapest rates through them. You also get a second driver for free.

I always book the lowest price at the moment and then keep checking back every few days to see if there is a better rate. If so, I book that rate and then cancel the first reservation.

Is this something new because I've flown to HNL a couple of times and rented from two different agencies and had to take a shuttle both times?
