Rent a Van Problems
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hey
We leave tomorrow evening so when I got home from work today I called National to see if I could pick up the van earlier at 12:30 instead of 4:00pm (my boss told me to knock off at noon tomorrow and go enjoy my vacation).
Anyways, the guy who answered the phone said the office was now closed but so and so would call me in the morning because the Grand Caravan they had for me got smashed so they are going to put us in an 8 seater Dodge Durango and later switch us to a van.
I have a couple of questions.
1. They should not charge me more, eh? Even though it is a more expensive renter? (not my fault the van I ordered 2 months ago got in an accident)
2. I feel that I should not have to change vehicles (who knows where) as it sounds like a hassle especially for the amount of stuff we are taking for 2 adults, dd14, dd11 and ds17months.
3. Do you think I should ask for a cut rate as the Durango, which is a V8, will consume about 20% more in fuel than the Caravan V6(according to the Dodge website)?
Am I being unreasonable? What would you do? (Changing rental companies is not an option).
BTW I am so excited. Only 1 more sleep.
Thanks in advance for your valued opinions
Paula
