We have always taken a towncar from the airport to the onsite hotels, but this year my boyfriend and his son are going with us. My boyfriend thinks it will be awful if we don't have a car :confused3 We are planning a day at Seaworld, but otherwise I think the majority of our time will be spent on property. Is it worth it to rent a car or not? If so, call me stupid, but I have no idea how to find the best deals and what to do to get a car. How to get to a grocery and the RPR!!!! Help please!!!!!! :earseek:

Yes, it is worth it to rent the car.
Most of the major chains have coupons, but they usually only work for a full week rental or a weekend that starts on a Thursday. You see, the major chains charge more during the beginning of the week because business people don't care if they pay more. From my recent trip out to California, I tried Thrifty and it turned out great. They don't charge more for the beginning of the week. I signed up with their Blue program on their web site, went straight to the counter when I arrived, bypassed the line, and was on my way. Ask your friends if they have any rental car coupons, but you really have to check the fine print, because they only work on certain days. If no coupons, try Thrifty.

Directions from the IOA area to the grocery store are on my web site here. This page is from the HRH, but the RPR is just down the street.

At the bottom of that page, you can navigate to my other pages which will give you more information on the area. Rent the car.

Thanks Robvia for your reply. I have been so torn about what would be best. I like the convenience of a towncar and not having to worry about anything, but I would also love the convenience of being able to hit some areas that I haven't been to before. Does anyone have any directions from the airport to RPR? Thanks. :flower:

That's also on one of my pages, just doesn't start from the airport.
If you go here and follow the directions from where it talks about the 528, that's it. When you leave the airport, you are on the 528 expressway, you have to pay a toll, and then you end up on I-4 heading East towards Orlando. From there, follow my directions to the Universal Studios exit, it's easy.

When the pick up your rental car, the final person who checks your papers will give you directions, and you will get a map at the counter.
