Renfroe family returns to WDW for first time in 5 years!

Facebook "drama" is so not for me! I think as an administrator of a facebook page, questions should at least be asked before the block someone. Oh well, all's well that ends well.

129 days to go! 30 days until we are down into double digits!

Look what we got in the mail last week!

I was hoping we would get the usb flash drive that others have mentioned, but no dice. :rolleyes1 No matter! Getting personalized confirmation through the mail with our family's name on it makes me get excited! :dance3:

It's pretty cool seeing your personal info and confirmation info written on Disney literature!

Congrats on the used, new car. Wow, Wil is driving and has his own car! :scared1: lol

I'm laughing my butt off at the grey band families. You know I'll be watching for them in Oct. now. :thumbsup2 Guess what color DH wants though.

Hey Myst! :wave2: Yeah, hard to believe Wil just turned 17! He's nearly as tall as I am!

Hahahaha! Tell DH that grey is one of my favorite colors and I probably would've chosen grey...but then I saw the "generic" grey bands...and started thinking about all those "grey-band people"! And people staring at me judgingly thinking, "Oh look, there's one of those people who either screwed up their original magicband, lost it, or didn't plan ahead." And I certainly don't want to be that guy! :)

Personalize Disney Stuff with our name on it is always awesome! Congrats!

That Guy! When I am sitting in Monsters Laugh Floor or I see a gray Magic Band, I will be thinking, That Guy!!! Too Funny!

.

Yay for getting some Mickey Mail! Personalized Mickey Mail is always the best and makes your trip seem that much more "real"!

Yay for Mickey Mail!! It puzzles me on how they decide who gets the flash drive and who doesn't?? I agree, it is really cool to see all of your personal info included in the booklet! Did you get the magnet at the back? I thought that was a neat touch!

Glad you figured out why you were dropped from the group.

I don't get any of that neat stuff in the mail from Disney for May...probably because Mary booked the trip. ;)

Hi

I just found your TR I have only read the first page but will read more.

I will be going back to Disney again for the first time in 5 years too. Our last trip was in June/July 2009 when we stayed at CSR.

My DH and I have a 17 year old son who is a junior and a 10 year old DD. We are heading down in February in ELEVEn Days!
I started a Feb 2014 thread that I started last April. I just never did a Pretoria report but I still might.

I am a teacher and we have a snow day today so I am here on the Dis

Anyway, you per trip report caught my interest with similarities we have. And I can continue reading your report even after I retun to help me get over my post Disney trip blues.

:wave2: Alan!!

First, a belated Happy Birthday to you!! :cake: Is it nice having your birthday after the hoiday? (not that you had a say in the matter! :rotfl2:) Mine is the flip of yours.. right in the middle of December and it kinds of gets caught up in all the holiday stuff. :) Well, hope you had a great day!

Congrats on the new "used" car. :thumbsup2 All of our cars have been used except for our 2006 civic. DH loved that car and it went to our DS in the fall and we replaced it with another usued civic. You can score some great deals on used as long as you know the value. We looked at the Hyundai - it might be what we do for DD (she's 15) (althought not looking forward to her driving!)

:yay: for the discount at POR! Love that resort, so peaceful. Your excel sheets looks impressive :) I like your last night being at MK, and HS is perfect for the last day to hit the headiners and fav rides again.

Received the Incredible disney mail too, with the flash drive.. and that's for a BB that I'm not keeping! :) well hoping to make May work. :)

re the magic bands.(we have a few of the Grey ones :) along with some custom ones. Thought they might look good on the Christmas tree so a few went on after getting back from the December trip! :laughing:They added a nice extra magical touch!! :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

I talked him out of being "that guy"! :rotfl:

Hey all! I'm still alive and well, but extremely busy with my job. We've got a couple of big projects that are taking up most of my time. Anyway, I've decided to abandon this pre-trip report simply because I don't have time to keep it up. That being said, our plans are made! ADRs, FP+, etc. For my loyal followers here are our final plans:

Thursday, May 29 - Leave from home, drive to Valdosta, GA, spend the night

Friday, May 30 - Arrive at Disney World around 11am. Do a pre-check-in at Port Orleans Riverside and activate magicbands. Lunch at Kona Cafe at 12:15pm, then it is on to Animal Kingdom. Fastpass for Kilimanjaro Safari at 1:45pm, Expedition Everest at 2:45pm, and Primeval Whirl at 3:45pm. If the weather is pretty that day, we will leave the park after Everest and skip Primeval Whirl. We would like to be back at POR by 4 or so, unpack, and maybe get in a little time at the pool. At 6pm, we will catch the boat to Downtown Disney and have a reservation for dinner at Raglan Road at 7:30pm.

Saturday, May 31 - Epcot at rope drop, head straight to Test Track and ride a couple of times, then Sum of all Thrills. We have a fastpass for Soarin' at 11:25am, then it's on to the World Showcase. Lunch reservation at Via Napoli at 12:45pm. (We've never eaten there!) Then we have a 2:15pm fastpass for Mission Space and a 3:25 fastpass for Spaceship Earth. After that, back to the resort to get ready for dinner. Dinner reservations at Ohana at 6:45pm. If we aren't too tired, we may go back to Epcot for Illuminations.

Sunday, June 1 - Magic Kingdom at rope drop, head straight to 7DMT then Peter Pan, then Splash & BTMRR. Wil and I have a lunch ressie at Tony's Town Square (our tradition) while Elizabeth and Juliana have a ressie at Crystal Palace, all at 12:15. We will meet back up in Tomorrowland where we have a fastpass for Space Mountain at 1:35pm, a fastpass for Splash Mountain at 2:45pm, and BTMRR at 3:55pm. If FP becomes available for 7DMT, we will drop BTMRR for 7DMT. After that last fastpass we will leave the park and get ready for dinner. Dinner at Narcoossee's at 7:35pm. Following dinner, we plan to go back to Magic Kingdom for Extra Magic Hours pm! We will sleep in the next day.

Monday, June 2 - Sleep in, then go to Typhoon Lagoon. No lunch plans, just whatever. Late afternoon fastpasses at Hollywood Studios: Star Tours at 4:30pm, Tower of Terror at 5:30pm, Rock 'n Roller Coaster at 6:30pm. After the last ride, we will head over to the Boardwalk resort where we have a dinner reservation at Flying Fish at 8:00pm.

Tuesday, June 3 - Breakfast reservation at Boma at 7:45am, then on to Animal Kingdom. Hope to catch Finding Nemo: The Musical at 10:00am. Fastpass for Expedition Everest at 11:10am. Lunch at Yak & Yeti at 12:00. Fastpass for Dinosaur at 1:15pm and Fastpass for Kali River Rapids at 2:15pm. After KRR, we figure we will be pretty wet, so we are going to hop over to Blizzard Beach for the rest of the afternoon. Dinner at California Grill at 7:45pm where we will celebrating our 19-year wedding anniversary! We will stay and watch Wishes from atop the Contemporary Resort.

Wednesday, June 4 - Magic Kingdom at rope drop, then straight to 7DMT. We're planning to snag a FP+ for lunch at Be Our Guest. We have afternoon fastpasses for Space Mountain at 1:30pm, BTMRR at 2:30pm, Splash Moutain at 3:30pm (although we are thinking about changing this one to Winnie The Pooh since we've never done that ride.) We have dinner reservations for the Clam Bake at Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club. We've never been to the Beach Club, so we will explore!

Thursday, June 5 - Check-out at Port Orleans Riverside, then head to Hollywood Studios. We have a lunch reservation at Sci-Fi at Noon, and afternoon fastpasses for the Great Movie Ride at 1:30pm, Toy Story Mania at 2:40pm, and Tower of Terror at 3:50pm. After that we will drive over to the Wilderness Lodge and have dinner at Artist Point (first time we've tried this one) at 6:00pm. After dinner, we plan to drive North and see how far we can go before we get tired. We'll spend the night somewhere then drive on home the next morning.

Overall, I think this is going to be a fantastic vacation! And I certainly do need it!

Thanks to ALL of you who have read and followed. I wish you all the best of luck and pixie dust!

Alan
