I am not 100% sure but I think that you need to renew before the expiration date in order to renew it and get the discount for renewal if you don't I believe you have to pay the full price and it will be like buying brand new annual passes for the first time. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

ETA I was wrong you have 30 days after expiration to renew.

I renewed mine by phone three weeks after it expired. It expired January 6th, and I called CRO and renewed it around January 23rd. No problems at all. I think the official line is that you have a month after the expiration to renew. So if nothing changed, you should be OK. :)

In the past I have renewed mine at Guest Services at MK and also International Gateway at Epcot. :)

thanks. i know for a fact that you have 1 month from the expiration to renew, i just wasn't sure where the most convenient place to renew at the parks was. i originally bought it at the disney store in the airport. can you renew there?

Yes I too have renewed within 30 days after expiring and no problem. I actually called the passholder line and they told me no problem. I just went to a park guest service window and renewed. I plan to renew again in October since I expire on Oct. 20th and will arrive on Oct. 27th. BTW, you can also renew online now too. You just need to login to the passholder website. Not sure if you are mailed a voucher or if it's willcall--I've never done it, I've just seen the catagory.

I am glad to see that it is a month. I wasn't sure how it worked-can you believe I have had AP's for a while now and didn't know that-we go every month for at least one day so we usually renew a couple days before they expire. I learn something new all the time.
