Renewing AP in person. Can you enter parks even on blackout dates?

So in years past, if you went to the park and renewed your AP in person, they would give you a day only pass to enter the parks even if your AP was renewed on a blackout date. We have our AP renewal coming up and I was wondering if they're still doing this. I'm asking because we're trying to plan a trip around our renewal and if we get to enter the park on our blackout date will have an effect on our planning. I know things may change so I'm just curious to know if anybody has recently renewed their AP's in person and receive a day only pass?

Yes, they will give you a blockout day pass if you renew in person. Did it just a couple weeks ago.

I forgot. Is the day pass good for both parks to park hop or just one park? I thought I remembered it being both parks.

Yes, it's a parkhopper. You use your AP and show them the blackout ticket whenever you enter a park.

bump.

We're going next weekend to visit DLR/DCA and our pass is not good on Saturday. Does anybody know if we can still renew in person and still enter the parks? I know I asked this already but it was a while ago when we were planning our end of the year trip and now that it's around the corner, I just want to make sure we're still good to go. Anybody with recent experience can confirm that they'll give you a pass for the day if you renew in person?

They've done it for literally years. Yes, they will let you in, as long as the park isn't at capacity. You are going at a very busy time.

Yeah, just wanted to double check in case they changed their policy and I missed it on these forums. We all know that Disney is not shy about changing long standing policies if they need to so just wanted to double check.

I think the answer to everything ticket related is really something like, it last worked for me on this date, all you can do is ask when you get there, if they say no, ask for a lead or try a different CM. Only the CM at the booth that day will know if they're going to give you the block out exception pass.
