Here's our scenerio:

1) Our Annual Passes Expire Jan 26, 2016
2) DH and I are going to WDW Jan 9th/10th for a quick weekend trip for his bday
3) We are planning to renew our family of 4's annual passes (to the new "Platinum Pass") anyways as we have a trip planned for March 26th/ Spring Break.

Question: If I pay for our annual pass renewal before our Jan 9th trip, will Memory Maker photos be included for this trip? Will our annual passes now be considered "Platinum Passes" and have the photo benefit?

If renewing slightly early will trigger the photo benefit, I will do it now. If not, I may wait until late February to renew to allow more time to save up.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks!

I'm not sure renewing will do it. But if you "upgrade" one of your passes to Platinum now, it will kick in the Memory Maker benefit for you. We did this last month to mine. Ours expire in May, but our upgrade allowed us to have memory maker for our December trip and our upcoming May trip (cheaper than paying for it twice). You may want to do this before your weekend trip. When we "upgraded", we were told there was a 24 hour delay before MM became active on my pass (but you could then get a photo pass card and link it and not lose any photos). But in actuality, our photos were in fact there on our account that night.

Our passes expire January 25 2016 and we have a trip planned for January 15-26. We just renewed ours online the other day and I'm able to see and download the pictures from our early September trip, which is nice. So you can either renew it now or after the trip but once you do, all your older pictures from this January trip will be accessible. I'm not sure how far it goes back it goes - It shows generic pictures for parks and rides we went on last January and April/May but not the actual pictures. In any case, it's at least three months because that's what I'm seeing show up on here now.

- I expire Feb 2 and asked in Oct about upgrading to new pass - they wanted $181.00. I laughed.
- On Dec 11 inquired at GR about DS's AP which expired Dec 14th. Upgrade (for 3 days) was about $60.
- The CM seemed like she wanted to say something but didn't.
- We didn't ask the right question.
- We said no, we'll just renew his pass and not worry about photos.
- Even though technically still on his old AP, photos began to show up on his account as available.
- As the weekend went on lots of photos starting showing up from MY October trip and OUR May trip so went back 7 mos.
- He was not with me on many of these days so it was giving him my photos because we are "family & friends" on MDE.
