Renewing an AP

I believe that I read that you have 30 days after expiration to renew an AP.

Does the renewal back date to the original date or does the year start on date of renewal?

For example, if my AP expires on August 5th and I renew on August 16th, what are the dates for the new pass?

No matter when you renew within the renewal period, the start date of your new AP will be the day after your old AP expired.

I don't think you have to do the renewal within 30 days. They will just back date your pass to the original expiration date if it is more than 30 days.
